Change the World Participation Makes an Impact

First Year Success Leads to 2011 Event

Nashville, Tenn. : More than 100,000 people from over 1,000 churches united with a common purpose over a 48-hour period: to make a world of difference in ways both large and small. United Methodists from 13 countries and every state in the U.S. energetically worked to build community locally and fight malaria globally during Change the World weekend, April 24-25, 2010.

Congregations at local churches rolled up their sleeves and took to the streets to feed the hungry, aid the homeless, visit the lonely, and more. They did it with work crews, talent shows, candlelight vigils, picnics, sleep-outs, food drives, etc.

A Note From Your New Pastor

As Paul so often began letters to his established churches, "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." I greet you excited and energized for this new chapter we are about to begin together at the Killbuck United Methodist Church. God’s hands are upon this union, and I stand in awe of His workings that bring us together.

I fondly recall seeing the Disney movie "Bambi" at the Duncan Theater when I was about 9 and attending the Killbuck Early American Days. I was just as anxious to learn who Lucille Lowe would unveil during "This is Your Life" as the adults (even though as a kid I didn’t know a soul she introduced). I treasure the times with grandma (Pauline Patterson Engel) and visits with her sisters, Bessie, Ruth and Frances, and their families.
