As this newsletter goes to print we have 44 children attending this years VBS! We are having a Galactic Blast as we explore God’s universe through song, story, games, crafts, science experiments and yummy snacks. A Big Thank-you to all who helped make this year’s event so rewarding. I know the children are having a great time! Our mission project is the Love Center and I will report next month on how much money we raised in support of this vital ministry.

A Word from Finance
Thursday, 08 July 2010 17:23

You will be receiving a statement of giving for this year through the month of May. Please remember that even if you go on vacation, the church does not! As partners in ministry with our district and conference, our apportioned monies go to mission work and outreach in our district. If we do not make our apportionments, many ministries such as food pantries, youth outreach in the community and ministry to the unchurched can not happen.

For Your Health

This tip comes to us courtesy of Nancy Miller - as one who is really "bugged" by mosquitoes I am going to try this out!

I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it.....Pass it on. Try this as well; insert a Bounce Dryer Sheet in your belt loop.

Mosquitoes will stay away.

During the month of July we are collecting soup for the Love Center. There will be a box outside my office for your donations.

GALACTIC BLAST: A COSMIC ADVENTURE PRAISING GOD!

At Galactic Blast, your children will become cadets on the starship Galactic Praise as we learn more about our wonderful, incredible, amazing, magnificent, awesome God.

After a high-energy opening on the starship Galactic Praise, the cadets spacewalk to the Good News Galaxy. Through the Bible stories there, children will witness how our mighty God is at work in the world. Cadets will learn Praise Phrases and bible Booster memory verses that will boost their faith long after VBS.

The children will expand on what they’ve learned by participating in a variety of activities: making their own art projects at Cosmic Crafts, singing new music at Moons & Tunes, exploring science activities at the Orbital Observatory, participating in recreational activities at Rocket Rec, and enjoying tasty snacks at the Astro Bistro.

Come enjoy this cosmic adventure at Killbuck Valley Christian Church on June 27th through July 1st from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

To register call Killbuck United Methodist Church at 330.276.3871.
