No power on earth or heaven can separate us from God's love. Not our sin, not any authority, not any spiritual force. God's love is unshakable and can always be relied upon.

TRAPPED! Can you even imagine what it must be like for those thirty-three miners trapped in the mines in Chile? I have been following with great interest the news reports on the progress that is being made to reach and release the miners. First, what a miracle to find them all alive after two weeks of not knowing their fate! What their families must have gone through as they waited for news of their loved ones: The fear, the anxiety and then the overwhelming joy and relief to learn that all had made it safely to the shelter. Then when you learned the details of their two week ordeal- subsisting on a half a glass of milk and two bites of tuna every 48 hours (I can already see the diet book that will come from this "Lose two dress sizes in two weeks on the miracle miners' diet") little illumination and the mind numbing fear of not knowing when or if they would be found, how incredibly difficult it must have been for them. I can't begin to know how I would have managed if I had found myself in their circumstances. I would like to believe that I would be mentally, emotionally and spiritually strong enough to survive, but you never know until put to the test.

During this Holy Week we journey to the cross, then to the grave and then beyond. That first Easter morning the women journeyed to the tomb with no expectations of anything other than to anoint a dead body. Yet, they were astonished and terrified to find an empty grave. The gospel of Mark says "Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid." (Mark 16:8) Over 2000 years separates us from that first Easter, yet I wonder what do we go expecting to happen on this Easter Sunday morning? Will we come rejoicing expecting New Life,

During Lent I am challenging the church to not only follow in the footsteps of Jesus but to “Step It Up For Jesus!” During Lent I am hoping we will not only be spiritually healthy but physically healthy too. So here is the challenge: I will supply worksheets and a pedometer to anyone who wishes to participate in the contest. Each day you will receive points for various activities such as drinking water, eating fruits and
